Where Traditional Craft Meets Modern Print

At Rapidity, we believe the way a story is brought to life visually is just as important as the story itself — particularly when that story is rooted in craftsmanship.

For Japan House: The Craft of Carpentry, we used specialist print and finishing techniques to translate traditional Japanese craftsmanship into a bold, contemporary exhibition environment.

Layered vinyl graphics in green, black and white created striking visual elements throughout the space, while optically clear window films with a 70% tint transformed areas into immersive projection spaces without compromising the surrounding design.

Dry transfers and precision-cut vinyl were carefully applied across glass, timber and walls, creating seamless graphics that worked harmoniously with the architecture and exhibition materials. Captions and image panels were produced on matt black and white textured papers and mounted onto Foamex, creating a refined floating effect. Additional prints were laminated and installed throughout the exhibition to complete the experience.

Every element demanded precision — from the smallest piece of vinyl text to the larger-scale paper and wall installations. The result was a cohesive visual environment that brought together heritage, craftsmanship and modern print technology in a way that felt both authentic and contemporary.
